Position Title: Documentation Technician
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Wage Range: $26-$32 per hour
This position offers an opportunity for growth in a dynamic manufacturing environment, where documentation management plays a crucial role in ensuring product quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, with a solid understanding of documentation processes within the EMS industry.
Review and analyze customer documents to ensure clear understanding and proper implementation.
Assist with contract reviews and scheduling of engineering documentation as required.
Ensure proper management and control of customer-supplied documents.
Serve as a point of contact for customer queries and support documentation-related needs.
Develop, maintain, and control engineering documentation using systems such as Aegis/Fusion.
Generate and manage ERP system travelers for production processes.
Stencil/Fixture/Tooling Purchase: Oversee the purchase of necessary stencils, fixtures, and tooling for production.
Ensure all folders in Engineering Data are organized and updated for easy access.
Establish new part numbers within the MRP/ERP system as required.
Ensure that Bills of Material (BOMs) are updated and maintained accurately within the MRP/ERP system.
Assist in risk management and provide support during quote reviews as needed.
Provide technical and documentation support to manufacturing engineering teams and customer-focused teams.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the Documentation Technician role and contribute to the implementation of those improvements.
Adhere to and promote safety, ESD, ITAR, and QMS protocols, serving as a role model in following these guidelines.
Assist in investigating and responding to corrective actions when necessary.
Actively contribute to the elimination of waste and inefficiencies in the documentation and manufacturing processes.
Understanding of Component Item Master fields within MRP/ERP systems.
Knowledge of how a Bill of Material functions in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with electronic components and their role in production.
At least one year of relevant experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry.
Proficiency with standard computer applications (Microsoft Office, etc.).
At least two years of experience with ERP systems.
A minimum of two years' experience in an electronic manufacturing environment.
Three years of previous electronics assembly experience.
Some Lean Manufacturing training or experience is a plus.
