JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides world class quality technical support to the manufacturing areas and product standard work activities that meet or exceed customer expectations. The Document Control Analyst will support the QMS Coordinator and/or Manager in establishing performance standards, procedures, and audit controls in order to meet business requirements, as well as, identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of company QMS system. This is accomplished by performing the necessary system audits via EASE or other means to ensure customer and Quality Assurance standards are being met and maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Document Control Analyst facilitates the Change Control process for the manual change control system as well as updating existing documents to new format/revision levels using Active Workspace Client.
Analyzes and interprets the significance of the proposed changes using independent judgment to guide change initiators in the development of accurate change requests.
Reviews standard operating procedures, logs, forms, manufacturing records, work instructions and all other Quality records for adherence to established templates, good documentation practices and adequacy of referenced procedures and part numbers.
Implements the Layered Process Audit system using EASE audit software. Serves as the Administrator, scheduler and corrective action governance leader.
Communicates issues effectively and partners with cross-functional associates to meet compliance requirements.
Receives, classifies, files, audits, tracks, and maintains centralized documentation archiving system for hard copy documents on the floor.
Exercises good judgment and uses decision making skills to effectively perform job responsibilities.
Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation, and effectiveness of the Quality Management System per ISO, IATF, and other regulatory agencies through key controlled document updates.
Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.
Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job.
Perform other duties & projects as assigned.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Must be able to work under minimum supervision.
Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written including PowerPoint.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize tasks.
Works well with others in a team environment.
Strong Written and Oral communications skills are required.
Ability to handle multiple priorities at a time is required.
Working knowledge of ISO 9000/IATF 16949 Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement and 5S principles is recommended
Strong problem-solving skills, and critical thinking skills are required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma (or GED or equivalent) and 5 years related work experience.
Machining Processes experience is preferred.
ASQ Quality Technician and Internal Auditor preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
None.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee may be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. Work may involve reviewing, checking processes/gauges and instruments in a manufacturing environment including: machining, assembly, paint, heat treatment, grinding, core making, steel foundry.
PHYSICAL:
May stand, bend, stretch up to 12 hours/day.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. as needed.
WORKING HOURS:
Monday - Friday 8 hours/day.
