We are seeking passionate individuals for the role of the DJS Case Management Program Supervisor, so come join our team and make a meaningful impact on youth and the community at DJS!�\n\n\nThe main purpose of this position will be facilitate effective and efficient processes that fall under Court and Investigative services in the Baltimore City Region. The Court Services Program Supervisor will be responsible for local implementation of the Youth Family Team Process (YFTP), management of the Transfer of Jurisdictions (TOJ) process in Baltimore City Region, and for leading efforts to expedite the movement of youth through the case processing timeline to reduce unnecessarily long lengths of stay and facilitate returning youth to the community when appropriate.�\n\n\nThis position works to establish relationships with both internal and external stakeholders develop and cultivate partnerships, and support efforts to connect youth with services and supports as needed to return youth to the community safely and reduce unnecessary time spent in detention or committed facilities.�\n\n\nSome key responsibilities of this position may include, but not be limited, to the following:�\n\n\n\n\n The position will involve coordinating with Community Services and Residential Staff across the State to prepare for, conduct and provide follow up communication and support for the YFTP meetings.�\n Responsible for weekly monitoring of the population of youth in secure detention, pending placement and residential treatment programs in order to remove barriers and implement opportunities to expedite the movement of youth through the case processing timeline.�\n Provides management and oversight of the process for drafting and submitting investigation reports for Transfer of Jurisdiction cases as directed.�\n\n\n\n\nThis position is eligible to work a hybrid telework schedule and may involve non-traditional hours to meet the needs of the youth, families, and partners; may include nights and weekends.\n\n MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education:�A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.\nExperience: Four years of experience providing case management services to emotionally or socially maladjusted, delinquent, victimized, or exceptional juveniles in a community or residential setting. \nNotes:\n1. Candidates may substitute possession of an Associate of Arts degree in the social or behavioral sciences or criminal justice from an accredited college or university and two years of experience providing direct services to children in a community or residential setting for the required education. \n2. Candidates may substitute possession of a Master's degree in the social or behavioral sciences or criminal justice from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.\n3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Social Services classifications or Social Services specialty codes in the Social Science, Psychology and Welfare field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.\n DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS \nThe\npreferred candidate for this position may possess any of the following\nqualifications:�\n\n\n Bachelor's degree in a Social or Behavioral Science\n major (such as Criminal Justice, Sociology, Human Relations, Psychology,\n Child and Adolescent Studies or Social Work, or other closely related\n fields).�\n At least one year of supervisory experience in\n providing direct services to children in a community or residential\n setting.�\n At least one year of experience supervising\n lower-level Case Management Specialists in a community or residential\n setting.�\n\n\n\n\n\n\n LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION This recruitment is limited to current DJS employees only.�\n LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS 1.�Candidates appointed to positions in this classification are required to become fully certified by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission within 90 days of appointment and maintain certification while employed.\n2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \n SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS 1. In accordance with the Correctional Services Article, Section 8-209�of the�Annotated Code of Maryland,�the Maryland Correctional Training Commission shall establish the minimum qualifications for probationary or permanent appointment of a Department of Juvenile Services employee in a mandated position. These requirements are listed in detail in the Code of Maryland Regulations 12.10.01.04, general regulations of the Maryland Correctional Training Commission, and include: \n����U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien status\n����Must be at least 21 years of age\n����A thorough background check, including fingerprinting and drug testing \n����An oral interview, and\n����Physical and psychological examinations. \n2.
