We are seeking passionate individuals for the role of the DJS Assistant Superintendent Residential Facility II, so come join our team and make a meaningful impact on youth and the community at DJS!�\n\n\nThe main purpose of this position will be to assist the Facility Administrator in providing direct management and supervision for the operation of a juvenile facility, to include personnel and youth court ordered into the custody of the facility.�\n\n\nSome key responsibilities of this position may include, but not be limited, to the following:�\n\n\n• Assist Facility Administrator in managing the overall day-to-day operations of a juvenile facility in accordance with Departmental and Divisional policy and procedures.�\n\n\n• Responsible for the day-to-day security operations and ensure closer supervision of direct care personnel. Ensures that safety and security are maintained in the facility and that operations are in compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures.�\n\n\n�• Coordinate staff development and training programs in compliance with the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commission (MPCTC), while assuring staff's awareness of the most current trends and practices in the field of Juvenile Services.\n\n MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS \nEducation:�High\nschool diploma or G.E.D. certificate recognized by the Maryland State Board of\nEducation, as required by Correctional Training Commission regulations.\n\n\nExperience:�Six (6) years of experience supervising youth in a\njuvenile facility, community program for at-risk youth, or correctional\nsetting, including at least two (2) years overseeing staff who provide services\nto youth.�\n\n\nNote:�An Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, social\nsciences, or behavioral sciences may substitute for up to one (1) year of the\nrequired experience. A Bachelor's degree in these fields may substitute for up\nto two (2) years of the required experience.\n\n\n DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS \nThe preferred candidate for this position may\npossess any of the following qualifications:\n\n\n� A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice,\nsocial or behavioral sciences, or a related field is preferred.�\n� Knowledge and/or experience working with youth\nin a treatment setting.�\n� Ability to teach, train, and build effective\nteams within the facility.�\n� Safety and security-minded, with the ability\nto implement systems and schedules effectively.�\n� Flexibility with work schedule, including the\nability to work evening hours.\n\n\n SELECTION PROCESS Please make sure that you provide sufficient information on your\ncompleted application to show that you meet the qualifications for this\nrecruitment.
