Summary

GCC Division Accounting Manager

  • This position reports to the Division Vice-President and General Manager and will oversee the Division Accounting Team, ensuring accuracy and compliance in the financial operations of the Division. The role is comparable to an E&P industry upstream Controller or Division Controller, with the key responsibilities below:
  • Oversee a team of local personnel, including division production accounting, operations accounting, office management/facilities, general accounting and accounts payable.
  • Work closely with Division Vice President/General Manager, various Country Managers and Division Operations and Technical Management teams to provide support on accounting, forecasting, and financial analysis for transactions and contract negotiations.
  • Manage monthly financial statement preparation, financial forecasting, and budgeting processes for the Division and joint venture partners, including monitoring financial and operational metrics, analyzing variances from forecast, and reporting significant issues.
  • Manage joint venture relationships, including liaising with partners' accounting/financial counterparts.
  • Lead quarterly and ad-hoc presentations to the Headquarters executive management team as well as joint venture management committees.
  • Coordinate with Headquarters management to ensure accuracy of division level financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and analyses, including production, lease operating expenses, DD&A, capital, AFEs, accruals, inventory and equipment, etc.
  • Oversee compliance with accounting policies and procedures and internal controls.
  • Oversee compliance with local governmental reporting requirements (invoice stamps, VAT, other local taxes).
  • Coordinate communications with internal and external auditors.
  • Oversee facilities and other administrative functions

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Accounting degree, CPA preferred
  • 10+ years in the international upstream oil and gas accounting sector preferred
  • Ex-patriot experience preferred
  • 10+ years supervisory/managerial experience preferred
  • Detail oriented; with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Self-motivated with strong management, analytical and coordination skills
  • Strong presentation and communications skills
  • Knowledge of IFRS and U.S. GAAP
  • Strong Excel skills

Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
