The hiring salary range for this position is $5,802.31 - $7,398.28/semi-monthly or $11,604.62 - $14,796.56/month or depending on qualifications.

As the division director for Transportation Planning and Operations, you’ll lead the development and implementation of the Metro Vision Regional Transportation Plan, guiding the region’s investments in multimodal transportation systems. Description of Work
- Provides overall direction and leadership to subordinate managers and staff, which may include: assigning projects and objectives; conducting performance evaluations; developing, motivating, and training employees; and making hiring, termination and disciplinary decisions.
- Provides oversight and senior level direction in the implementation of internal operations, which includes planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensures compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards.
- Interprets, explains, and applies applicable laws, regulations, and policies; makes sound decisions in accordance with applicable guiding measures.
- Develops and administers budgets; approves expenditures; reviews financial statements; manages financial operations.
- Develops and maintains internal and external relationships; participates in a variety of meetings, committees, task forces, or related groups to communicate information regarding services, programs, areas of opportunity, and other information; represents assigned area on committees and advocacy groups.
- Administering the transportation planning and transportation operations programs, including management of the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO);
- Identifying and developing funding sources, developing new programs, and directing research and analysis of transportation plan and model;
- Attending to requests from member governments and others.
- Participating in policy development, including identifying and analyzing critical issues affecting the DRCOG region, recommending alternative positions and actions.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in regional planning, transportation planning, transportation engineering or field directly related to assignment, eight to ten years of progressively responsible related experience that includes three to five years of management and supervisory experience. A Master’s Degree in a field directly related to assignment may be preferred. Some assignments may require additional certifications and/or licenses. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
