The Four Seasons Explorer, Palau is currently looking for a Dive Instructor – Japanese/Mandarin Language Speaker who shares our passion for excellence and is enthusiastic about creating a memorable guest experience. Dive Instructor is part of a diverse and dynamic team that provides award-winning service to our valued guests. This position reports to the Cruise Director. Will be based on FS Explorer in the Republic of Palau.

Special Requirements

• One-year experience in related operational field.
• Be a certified dive Instructor in teaching status.
• Have the basic knowledge of dive compressor.
• Must be able to dive to up to four dives a day.
• Must have basic first aid knowledge.
• Must be intermediate in oral and written English.
  
  

Major Responsibilities

General

• Is directly responsible for the day to day key processes in his/her area of work
• Assists his/her supervisor in executing the day to day operational requirements
• Assumes training responsibilities when required; demonstrates a high degree of standards awareness; promotes teamwork and acts as role model
• Attends all scheduled training sessions Actively offers operational, employee and customer (internal and external) related feedback to management
• Displays warmth, care and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests and internal customers; lives the Golden Rule
  
  

Departmental

• Cleans and stocks the dive center area, dive boats and operating equipment Charges and maintains air and Nitrox tanks; performs regular maintenance on compressor.
• Plans and conducts dive excursions for guests in accordance with PADI and vessel standards; diligently follows the Four Seasons Dive Standards;
• Possesses a high degree of product knowledge and relevant technical skills; intuitively recommends and effectively up sells activities and services in a sensitive and personalized manner;
• Provides genuine hospitality and recognition in the work area; creates highly personalized and enjoyable guest experiences
• Performs retail transactions and cashiering tasks in accordance with hotel standards; adheres to resort credit policies and procedures
• Anticipates guest needs and takes ownership of guest concerns and requests; acts decisively to ensure guest satisfaction; reports all glitches to Assistant Manager / Manager for further follow up.
• Is proficient in the safe handling of all relevant equipment and machinery; reports defects and accidents to management immediately;
• Handles unexpected situations and emergencies in a composed and intelligent manner and in accordance with resort policies and procedures
• Have a general knowledge on underwater photography / videography equipment maintenance and use

• Adheres to the vessel's code of conduct and grooming & hygiene standards
• Is seen as working hands-on, assists colleagues in crunch times; Walks the talk
• Actively participates in briefings and meetings
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area and promotes a safe working environment

• Is competent in the use of dive equipment and whaler operations.
• Carries out repairs to equipment as directed; undertakes preventive maintenance;
• Accurately posts guest checks, processes payments and adheres to related control procedures in a vigilant manner
• Able to administer basic first aid; diligently follows boat safety procedures
• Performs opening and closing procedures Take under water pictures / videos to enhance the guest experience as needed creating a video upon request.
