Distribution Operations Supervisor (Modesto, CA)

LHH is teaming up with a client in the Food and Beverage industry in search of a top notch Distribution Operations Supervisor in Modesto, CA.

The ideal candidate for the Distribution Operations Supervisor role is an experienced leader with at least two years of supervisory experience in a logistics warehouse environment. They possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills, and are capable of making sound judgments related to inventory management. Additionally, they should be willing to work mid-shift hours and extended hours during peak seasons, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and conversational Spanish are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision: Oversee daily and weekly warehouse operations, including labeling activities, ensuring timely and quality completion of orders.
• Safety: Enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment. Investigate accidents or near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Leadership: Provide leadership, motivation, training, and development for the union workforce, including forklift operators, truck drivers, and receiving clerks.
• Communication: Coordinate with other supervisors and managers on operational activities.
• Quality and Productivity: Ensure that quality and productivity standards are met.
• Workplace Culture: Foster a positive and dynamic workplace that promotes positive employee relations.

Experience:

• Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• Minimum of 2 years supervising employees with demonstrated leadership capabilities. At least 2 years of experience in a logistics warehouse environment.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to make sound judgments related to inventory management.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Conversational proficiency in Spanish is highly desired

Physical Requirements

• Activity: Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; occasional fine finger dexterity.
• Physical Demands: The job involves 20% or less sitting, 50% or more walking, and 50% or more standing. The ability to lift up to 45 lbs. is required.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Salary: $68,640 – $80,000/year, depending on experience

Location: Modesto, CA

Hours: Full time. Willingness to work mid-shift hours (2 PM to 12 AM) from October to June, and extended hours including weekends during the harvest pack season (July through September)
