We're looking for a driven and experienced Distribution Manager to spearhead our warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring our delicious products reach their destination with speed, precision, and the utmost care. Join our team and play a vital role in bringing the Clover Sonoma promise to consumers every day! The Distribution Manager will strategically lead Clover’s distribution and warehouse operations. This role involves driving the team to consistently surpass performance objectives on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis through effective leadership and strategic oversight. The Manager will proactively address operational challenges and ensure optimal efficiency. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Operations, this position demands a results-oriented, experienced professional capable of managing complex logistics and a large team union and non-union team.


Responsibilities

  • Overall Management: Direct and manage all warehousing and distribution functions to ensure efficient operations.
  • Performance Achievement: Meet or exceed shift Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including:
  • Optimizing Order Selection Efficiency
  • Ensuring On-Time Loading of Clover Routes and Distributor Deliveries
  • Maintaining High Levels of Warehouse Staff Accuracy
  • Improving Staff Safety and Reducing Incident Rates
  • Team Supervision: Provide comprehensive administrative oversight to the team, prioritizing efficient picking and loading processes.
  • Problem Solving: Provide expert guidance to the team to resolve system, process, and product issues promptly.
  • Staffing Adjustments: Adjust staffing levels as needed to meet business demands and address unforeseen challenges.
  • Process Enhancement: Develop and implement ongoing process improvements to increase departmental efficiency.
  • Training and Procedures: Develop, conduct, and oversee training programs and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Performance Management: Manage and improve the performance of distribution and warehouse staff through coaching, counseling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when required.
  • Safety Leadership: Foster and champion a “Safety First” culture to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Transportation Management: Manage and guide the Transportation Supervisor to ensure efficient transportation operations.
  • Fleet Maintenance Support: Assist the Transportation Supervisor in overseeing and ensuring effective Fleet Maintenance.
  • Facility Maintenance: Oversee all aspects of warehouse sanitation and housekeeping.
  • Administrative Oversight: Manage warehouse timecards and approvals accurately and efficiently.
  • Inventory Control: Oversee warehouse inventory and waste management processes.
  • Compliance: Ensure the warehouse meets all compliance standards, including SQF.


Role Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of distribution management leadership experience with a proven track record of successful leadership in a distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams with a strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in pick-to-order warehouse operations and best practices.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and shop floor handhelds (SAP preferred).
  • Solid understanding of customer service principles, logistics processes, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff.
  • Proven time management, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Preferred experience in refrigerated distribution and logistics.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations.
  • Budgeting experience.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA a plus, but is not required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but is not required


What you Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; Associate's degree is required.
  • Material handling equipment certification is required.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development through workshops, industry publications, and professional networking is highly encouraged.
