Together, we can continue to lead the industry and help build our nation's infrastructure from the ground up Ferguson is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our Regional Distribution Center (RDC) and Regional Pipeyard (RPY) in Front Royal, Virginia. This is a critical leadership role for driving engagement, fostering a safety culture, optimizing productivity, and championing process improvement within a multi-shift, high-volume distribution operation. The facility supports both B2B and B2C channels, branch replenishment, and handles a wide range of functional activities. Located just 30 minutes from Winchester, VA, the Front Royal campus spans 800,000 square feet across 75 acres and supports a workforce of approximately 180-200 hourly associates and 20 salaried leaders. The Opportunity: As General Manager, you will: * Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of salaried leaders and frontline associates by modeling a strong understanding of big-box distribution operations. * Establish an inclusive environment by emphasizing empowerment, visibility, and accountability. * Set and drive goals related to safety, quality, productivity, associate engagement, and improvement. * Cultivate a collaborative and resilient environment where people thrive and feel proud to work. Key Responsibilities: * Talent Leadership: Hire, develop, coach, and retain top talent. Establish succession plans and develop a culture of learning and internal mobility. * Culture & Engagement: Build a strong, engaged workforce through effective communication, recognition, and a consistent focus on associate well-being. * Operational Excellence: Lead the execution of day-to-day operations with a focus on delivering best-in-class service levels, efficiency, and process improvement. * Customer Centricity: Ensure all functions are aligned to meet and exceed customer expectations while maintaining cost-effective operations. * Strategic Planning: Develop and put into action strategies to enhance Ferguson's competitive edge, improve operational performance, and boost profitability. * Safety Leadership: Champion a zero-incident safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines and Ferguson's safety policies. * Innovation & Learning: Stay up-to-date on standard methodologies, technology, and industry trends to consistently improve operations and safety performance. * Facility Oversight: Ensure the safety, security, and compliance of the RDC and RPY, aligning all policies and practices with company standards. Qualifications: The ideal candidate excels in achieving goals, showcases emotional intelligence, and approaches challenges with critical thinking in constantly evolving settings. * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred. * 10+ years of dynamic leadership experience in a large-scale distribution, production, or manufacturing environment, including leading salaried and hourly teams. * Proven experience in e-commerce fulfillment (direct-to-consumer) and complex big box operations. * Deep understanding of WMS, TMS, and other warehouse automation systems. * Familiarity with Labor Management Systems (LMS) or engineered labor standards. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a Lean/continuous improvement approach. * Demonstrated ability to effectively manage performance metrics to improve efficiency and service excellence. * Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration, influence, and conflict resolution. * Decisive, fair, and consistent approach to associate management and leadership.
