Job Summary: The Logistics Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing the day-to-day logistics and transportation operations. This role ensures that all shipments are delivered on time and in compliance with company policies and customer requirements. The Logistics Dispatcher will interact with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities: Dispatching & Coordination: Assign and dispatch drivers to deliver shipments according to schedule and customer requirements. Route Planning: Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs. Tracking & Monitoring: Monitor the status of shipments and deliveries using tracking systems and provide updates to customers and management. Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing them with instructions and resolving any issues that arise during transit. Problem Solving: Address and resolve any logistical issues or delays, ensuring timely delivery of all shipments. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including delivery schedules, driver logs, and customer interactions. Compliance: Ensure all dispatch operations comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries and concerns related to delivery schedules and issues. Collaboration: Work closely with the logistics team, warehouse staff, and other departments to coordinate and streamline operations. Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on dispatch activities, delivery performance, and other relevant metrics. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus. Experience: Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar logistics role. Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using dispatch and tracking software. Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. Knowledge: Familiarity with transportation and logistics regulations.
