Introduction to the Job

As our Director technical accounting – product delivery, you will play a crucial role in proactively assessing developments in the Accounting & Reporting landscape. Your expertise will translate these developments into guidance and requirements, embedding them into our accounting processes. You will provide proactive advice on potential accounting implications (US GAAP / IFRS / Local GAAP) to business stakeholders, ensuring compliance in a dynamic global environment within our fast-growing company.

Role and Responsibilities

As part of the Accounting expert advisory team, your mission is to be a trusted advisor that ensures compliance, supports quality decision-making, drives risk mitigation, and thinks in solutions to help ASML reach its full potential. As an expertise center within Finance, the Accounting expert advisory team sets and monitors our financial compliance requirements and executes defined expertise activities. We are the key decision-makers on financial accounting compliance & reporting and support the business as expert advisors.

At ASML, we must ensure that our ambitious business objectives are met in compliance with laws and regulations. As a business partner, you will work with senior stakeholders (up to the CFO) inside and outside the Finance department, playing a key role in:

• Providing advice for quality decision-making using in-depth expertise to stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with external reporting requirements, including both our US GAAP and IFRS Annual Reports, as well as local statutory reports
• Taking accountability for setting accounting policies and providing best practices to ensure effective, efficient, and compliant execution of operational activities
  
  

You will be part of the Accounting Expert Advisory team, which is responsible for:

• Advising colleagues with the correct and consistent interpretation and implementation of US GAAP/IFRS/Local GAAP standards
• Determining the accounting impact of significant transactions by being part of different project teams
• Taking ownership of external reporting of ASML Holding NV (US GAAP and IFRS), as well as interim IFRS reporting and local statutory reporting
• Reviewing our quarterly consolidated financial statements and earnings releases (US GAAP)
• Developing accounting policies and embed them in the accounting manual and position papers
• Collaborating with experts/peers from other expert groups (Tax, Treasury, Legal)
• Providing a second level of oversight over accounting compliance
• Providing training throughout the organization
• Prepare communication for the Audit Committee, Disclosure Committee, and Internal Control Committee
• Aligning with the external auditor on technical accounting-related topics
• Encouraging continuous improvement and embedding compliant accounting in ASML’s processes
  
  

Education and Experience

• A Master's degree with completed RA (or equivalent)
• 18+ years of experience at audit firms or in-house accounting department of a large-sized company (including managerial experience)
• Knowledge and experience with US GAAP and IFRS
• Knowledge and experience with ESG reporting is preferred
• Knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and the requirements as a result thereof is an advantage
