Summary

Job Description:

Overall Purpose: Strategically lead the tax department by developing and implementing tax systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance, optimize tax liabilities, and support the organization’s financial objectives through effective tax planning for various local, state, federal and international business units.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Strategic Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies aligning with business objectives and identify tax savings opportunities. Advise senior management on tax law implications and strategic decisions, including mergers and acquisitions. Ensures timely and accurate filing of tax returns
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all tax returns (federal, state, local, and international). Oversee tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements, ensuring comprehensive compliance.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and manage the tax department, including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations. Foster collaboration with other departments to ensure alignment on tax-related matters.
  • Risk Management: Assess and manage tax-related risks, developing policies to mitigate them. Handle tax audits and disputes with tax authorities, providing audit support and making strategic decisions.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Prepare tax reports for senior management, manage international tax compliance, and leverage technology for tax processes. Participate in M&A due diligence, stay updated on tax regulations, and seek continuous improvement opportunities.


Job Contribution: Designs and executes strategies that support the overarching philosophy of the organization. Oversees departmental programs and is often hands-on with the design and implementation of applicable strategies. Typically leads large teams, supervising supervisors as well as career-level staff within the organization. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 10+ years of related experience.

$158,200.00 - $237,400.00
