SoundThinking is hiring a Solutions Director for our SafetySmart Platform, who will be responsible for acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all SoundThinking solutions and the utilization of the products in the SafetySmart platform. The Director, SafetySmart Platform Solutions will work with the Vice President, SafetySmart Platform, Sales, Marketing, and Product Development to support proactive and programmatical go-to-market strategy initiatives. This position will require maintaining core competency and familiarity with all of SoundThinking’s current and future products.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for products within the SafetySmart platform. The role will assist in sales presentations with all of the products.
- Assist Regional Sales Directors in:
- Delivering compelling presentations, product demonstrations & meetings with key decision-makers across their territories.
- Work in a consultative role to assist on, diagnosing prospective customer pain points, messaging, value, justification, product education through demonstrations
- Work with Marketing and Product Management to provide input into:
- Refining our Value Proposition, ROI, competitive differentiation and messaging for this product offering
- Refining sales collateral
- Contribute to demand generation efforts by speaking at conferences and participating in webinars
- Demonstrate all Products in the SafetySmart Platform and be able to explain their features, benefits, and how they’re successfully used by SoundThinking clients
- Deliver product demos, presentations, and technical consultations to customers and prospects.
- Act as a technical advisor, helping clients understand how our solutions align with their needs.
- Serve as a strategic partner to Sales leadership, helping qualify and prioritize business opportunities where Solutions engagement drives meaningful outcomes
- Represent the Company as a subject matter expert in public forums, including but not limited to command staff, City Council meetings and media interviews.
- Maintain a deep understanding of academic research and industry best practices around implementation of license plate reader systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in a role mandating technical expertise supporting the sales organization during sales meetings and product demonstrations.
- Previous experience utilizing, implementing or presenting computer aided dispatch (CAD), records management (RMS), case management (CMS), crime and intelligence analysis systems, weapons detection systems, patrol management systems, license plate reader (LPR), traffic or speed camera systems is highly preferred.
- Excellent software technical skills including an understanding of software product integrations
- Experience supporting sales efforts within the public safety space
- Experience in successfully navigating highly charged political environments, making presentations to, and answering questions from sworn law enforcement officers, supervisors and command staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player.
- Excellent verbal and presentation skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively (Director – SafetySmart Platform Solutions can expect to travel an average of 2-3 days per week).
- Law enforcement background at an executive or supervisory level preferred
- Maintains a good understanding of academic research focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies for public safety.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred
- Previous or current Law Enforcement or Public Safety experience is preferred.

Hybrid Workplace
SoundThinking follows a hybrid schedule for employees who live equal to or less than 50 miles from one of our office locations, which include Fremont, CA, Tucson, AZ, Washington, D.C., or Iselin, NJ. Employees are expected to work onsite 3 days per week – the specific days are dependent on the office location.
