Summary

Salary: $225,000-$250,000

  • Lead Engineering Strategy – Spearhead the vision and execution for a next-gen, cloud-native advisor platform that supports financial professionals.
  • Enterprise-Wide Impact – Align engineering efforts with business goals across multiple business units, ensuring technology investments directly support growth.
  • Technical Leadership – Oversee platform architecture, design standards, and development of frontend, backend, APIs, mobile, and integration layers.
  • Modern Engineering Practices – Implement and uphold best-in-class software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies with automation in testing, security, and CI/CD.
  • Agile Excellence – Champion Agile frameworks driving velocity, code quality, and production stability with measurable KPIs.
  • Reliability & Security Focus – Embed DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices to ensure high availability, performance, and secure development.
  • Global Team Leadership – Manage and scale a distributed engineering team fostering a strong, inclusive engineering culture.
  • Talent Development – Define org structure, mentor leaders, and partner with HR to recruit, onboard, and grow engineering talent.
  • Architectural Governance – Set technical direction across microservices, APIs, event-driven design, identity management, and data architecture.
  • Tech Debt Elimination – Actively modernize legacy systems and introduce scalable solutions to improve platform extensibility.
  • Security & Compliance Ownership – Ensure secure-by-design practices, partnering with Risk and Compliance to meet regulatory standards (e.g., SEC, FINRA).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with product, infrastructure, architecture, data, and cybersecurity teams to deliver unified solutions.
  • Vendor and Budget Management – Manage third-party partnerships and a multi-million-dollar engineering budget with accurate forecasting and resource planning.

Technical And Leadership Qualifications

  • 12+ years in enterprise software engineering roles, with 5+ years in senior leadership engineering roles.
  • Demonstrated success building and operating cloud-native platforms at scale (Azure preferred).
  • Experience running a modern Agile/DevSecOps engineering organization with distributed teams.
  • Prior responsibility for managing offshore engineering partnerships and global delivery models.
  • Experience managing platform quality with automated unit, regression, performance, security, and integration testing.

Deep Hands-on Understanding Of

  • API development and management
  • Microservices architecture
  • Event streaming (Kafka or similar)
  • Mobile frameworks and web platforms (React/Angular)
  • Relational and non-relational data stores
