Summary

The Director, Purchasing is responsible for providing expert oversight and execution of purchasing contracts related to Benedictine purchasing of goods and services to support the communities and operations.

  • Work with Support Center and community leadership to standardize vendor products and services.
  • Negotiate vendor and manufacturer agreements both within and outside the GPO.
  • Create and implement standardized communication processes for community leadership to provide updates on product availability and other key information.
  • Complete analysis and comparisons and make purchasing recommendations.
  • Assist in the development of community and Support Center budgets by obtaining quotes and contracted pricing. Assist communities and support center staff in monitoring and implementing budgets to promote appropriate utilization of resources.
  • Performs other duties, tasks, and/or projects as assigned.
  • Promote the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect, and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company.


Qualifications Required

  • Four (4) degree in business, supply chain management, finance, or other related field.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts.


Qualifications Preferred

  • Experience working within or with a GPO.
  • Experience working with senior living contracts, specifically medical supply vendors and broad-line food vendors.
