Summary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a central point to provide thought leadership for business management operations across the Nuveen Technology & Operations (a global organization), maintaining ongoing communications with stakeholders and ensuring alignment on priorities.

  • Shape and lead execution of long short term and ad-hoc initiatives from concept to implementation, partnering closely with functional leads and leadership

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance organizational structures, workflows, and operational processes to drive efficiency, scalability, effectiveness and reduce risk.

  • Own the creation and maintenance of reporting frameworks, operational dashboards, and performance metrics to support data-driven decision-making across the business.

  • Collaborate with Finance and HR to manage operating budgets, forecasting, and P&L oversight, providing actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.

  • Identify skill gaps and capacity needs across teams and coordinate with relevant partners to develop solutions, including resourcing, training, or restructuring.

  • Lead local employee engagement initiatives, including cultural and leadership events, to foster collaboration, connectivity, and a strong organizational culture.

  • Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the CAO and senior leadership team—helping shape priorities, synthesize insights from strategic conversations, and ensure alignment with broader company objectives.

  • Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and communication materials (e.g., business reviews, strategic updates, meeting materials).

  • Drive alignment across cross-functional initiatives, facilitating collaboration and ensuring progress through clear milestones, follow-ups, and retrospectives.

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the local CAO team, offering guidance, performance support, and mentorship as needed to lead a high-performing team rooted in ownership, learning, and excellence

Requirements:

Experience & Background

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business operations, strategy, consulting, or program management
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving measurable business outcomes across complex organizations.
  • Background in asset management, management consulting, or corporate strategy is strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience with budgeting, financial planning, or P&L ownership is a MUST
  • Demonstrated success in operational design, process improvement, and organizational planning.

Leadership & Strategic Skills

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills; ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable making data-informed decisions and aligning teams around strategic goals.
  • Ability to influence without authority, drive alignment, and manage competing priorities across multiple departments.
  • Skilled at building and leading high-performing teams; experience with hiring, mentoring, and team development.

Operational & Analytical Skills

  • Proficiency in operational frameworks (e.g. OKRs, KPIs, RACI models) and tools .
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong project and program management abilities; certified (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) is a plus but not required.
  • Comfortable working with data to derive insights—experience with Tableau, Power BI, or SQL is a plus.
