The Role We Are Offering You
The Director, Program Management will lead all project deliveries for CAE Defence International, including the acquisition phase of training programs, ensuring successful closure. This role is accountable for meeting strategic plans by delivering expected gross margins, program growth, and developing excellent customer relationships. The Director will deploy CAE’s technology to maintain competitive positioning and support the sales team with consistent customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project deliveries, ensuring successful closure and meeting strategic plans.
- Deliver expected gross margins and program growth through contract changes, extensions, and new scopes.
- Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships and CAE’s reputation as a trusted partner.
- Deploy CAE’s technology and differentiators to maintain competitive positioning.
- Support the sales team with consistent and coordinated customer interaction.
Leadership And Governance
- Develop and mature the organization that delivers projects across the region, supporting P&L objectives.
- Develop the PMs and the PM organization, ensuring consistent, predictable, and optimal performance.
- Lead program management governance and practices to enable successful project delivery.
- Guide the project management team to achieve project success, focusing on early identification of leadership gaps and project risks.
Operational Responsibilities
- Define and lead common project resource allocation and prioritization.
- Contribute to developing winning solutions for bids, focusing on meeting themes and achieving required design to cost.
- Lead OEM interfaces from an execution perspective and provide operational input to the Strategic Partnership function.
- Participate in strategy development and overall leadership of the International business unit.
Team Management
- Daily line management of Transformational Program Leaders, Domestic Markets Program Leaders, and the Montreal Program Leader.
- Coach and guide direct reports to achieve project execution within scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
- Execute International PGM governance cycle to share experiences and build best practices.
- Resolve escalation issues regarding resources, budget, and priorities in collaboration with Domestic Business Leader and Strategy & Growth Leader.
Continuous Improvement
- Initiate continuous improvement activities and develop policies and procedures for project management.
- Analyze customer portfolios to identify promising business opportunities and stretch goals.
- Set priorities for project activities to ensure interdepartmental and global cooperation and communication.
- Establish and maintain business relationships to resolve conflicts with customers regarding project performance, scope, and schedule.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in program management, particularly in the defense and security sector.
- Proven track record of delivering projects successfully and meeting strategic goals.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship management abilities.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
