An exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic and high-impact team awaits! This hands-on leadership role offers an experienced accounting professional the chance to oversee the Union Accounting function at a leading organization’s North America headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
As the Director of Union Accounting, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), managing benefit contributions and union dues, and optimizing team efficiency. This position is responsible for driving process improvements, maintaining strong relationships with union fund leaders, and ensuring adherence to company policies and contractual obligations.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Interpret and apply Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) while managing union relationships.
Oversee financial processes, including payment calculations, reconciliations, and compliance audits.
Implement process improvements, monitor key metrics, and drive efficiency initiatives.
Partner with internal stakeholders, including Labor Relations and Finance, to align policies and support decision-making.
Maintain confidentiality, provide training, and represent the department in cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with 5+ years of accounting and managerial experience.
Strong analytical, leadership, and project management skills.
Proficiency in Excel, with SAP, Power BI, or Access experience preferred.
Ability to interpret contracts, manage multiple priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented team player with strong communication and organizational skills.
