Hotel Director of Sales & Marketing


Position Summary:

The Hotel Director of Sales is responsible for leading and executing the hotel's sales strategy to drive revenue growth, strengthen client relationships, and enhance market positioning. This role involves overseeing the sales team, developing business opportunities, and ensuring sales targets are met to maximize occupancy and profitability.


Key Responsibilities:


Sales Strategy & Business Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales plan to drive revenue.
  • Identify new market opportunities and partnerships to increase bookings.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to maintain a strong market position.

Client & Account Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and event planners.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with key accounts to secure long-term business.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.

Revenue Growth & Performance:

  • Collaborate with the revenue management team to optimize pricing strategies.
  • Set and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Monitor industry trends and adjust sales efforts accordingly.

Team Leadership & Training:

  • Supervise and mentor the sales team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Provide training on sales techniques, negotiation skills, and customer service.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and goal setting for the team.

Marketing & Brand Development:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to promote hotel services and packages.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Collaborate on digital marketing initiatives to boost online bookings.


Key Background Skills & Experience:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hotel sales
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in the hospitality industry.

Core Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and trends.
  • Leadership and team management expertise.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Experience with hotel sales software and CRM systems.
  • Understanding of revenue management principles and dynamic pricing strategies.
