  • Create the nation’s leading Metabolic Care Management Data Center.
  • Succeed in Value Based Care contracts.


Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Practice & Network Operations to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for continuing to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, and for overseeing and improving the operational functions of the practice, including scheduling, patient flow, practice workflow, payer relations, billing & collecting, among other areas. In addition, the person in this role will help lead the effort to expand patient access, recruit additional providers, and grow into new locations throughout greater San Diego, Southern California and potentially beyond. This role requires someone who is experienced and eager to deploy technology, AI, and other innovative strategies to improve practice operations, clinical processes and outcomes, and overall practice performance. This role requires someone with strong leadership skills with experience in a medical practice management role who is eager to pursue operational excellence, regional growth, and dramatic improvements in care delivery for our patients and community.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

1 Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee daily operations of both of AMCR’s practice existing locations, ensuring that all functions align with the practice's goals and objectives.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for improvement in practice operations, patient flow and workflow.
  • Oversee, recruit and retain all practice administrative staff.
  • Work closely with practice clinical leadership to effectively manage practice clinical staff.
  • Use objective operational metrics to assess and continuously improve practice performance.


2 Quality Improvement:

  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Use objective quality metrics to assess and continuously improve patient care quality.


3 Patient Experience:

  • Enhance the patient experience by implementing patient-centric practices and ensuring the highest level of customer service.
  • Utilize patient surveys and other objective metrics to assess and continuously improve the patient experience.


4 Financial Management:

  • Oversee the budgeting process, financial reporting, growth, and analysis to ensure financial health and sustainability of the practice.
  • Oversee the billing and collecting process.
  • Ensure that all payer contracts are up to date and processes outlined in those contracts are followed as required.
  • Proactively work to identify areas to improve practice profitability, grow revenue and reduce costs.
  • Use objective financial metrics to assess and continuously improve practice revenue, expense ratios, and profitability.


5 Technology Data

  • Master the technology tools currently used by the practice. Work with practice leadership and outside vendors, as necessary, to efficiently and effectively integrate and optimize existing tools.
  • Identify and implement new technology tools and services, including AI, that can be effectively and efficiently deployed to improve the patient experience, practice operations, growth and financial performance.
  • Participate in building and utilizing the nation’s leading Diabetes and Metabolic Care Management Database.


6 Network Operations:

  • Manage and develop relationships with referring physicians, specialists hospitals, and other healthcare providers to establish and strengthen the practice's clinical networks.
  • Ensure consistent practice operations, procedures, patient flow and work flow processes across office locations.


7 Growth

  • Lead efforts to grow the number of patients served by improving access, recruiting new providers into the practice, and nurturing and expanding referral relationships.
  • Initiate the development of marketing and patient outreach campaigns designed to grow the number of patients served by AMCR.
  • Lead the effort to add new practice locations throughout Greater San Diego, Southern California, and potentially beyond.


8 Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, recruit and develop staff, local and offshore, to foster a market leading, positive and productive work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and professional development opportunities.
  • Develop people who will help AMCR become the region’s leading clinical practice employer of choice.
  • Measure and continuously improve AMCR employee satisfaction and market reputation using objective sources and processes.


Qualifications:

  • A strong desire to improve healthcare.
  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in medical practice management, Endocrinology practice preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience using objective metrics to improve practice operations, patient & employee satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Demonstrated experience growing practices through improving access, recruiting and retaining new providers, adding locations, etc.
  • Experience and comfort selecting and deploying new technology and data tools designed to improve care, and practice operations and profitability. 
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, billing and collecting processes, payer relations, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
