Director of Power Systems Studies
Position Overview
The Director of Power Systems Studies will lead a team of engineers in conducting comprehensive power system studies to support the planning, design, and operation of electrical power systems. This position is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of energy systems while addressing regulatory compliance and stakeholder needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage power systems studies including load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
- Oversee the integration of renewable energy systems and assess their impact on grid stability and performance.
- Develop and implement project management strategies to ensure timely delivery of studies and reports.
- Engage with stakeholders to communicate study results and gather input for future projects.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices in all studies conducted.
- Utilize software simulation tools to model and analyze power systems effectively.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential issues and propose mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in power systems analysis and design, with a focus on load flow and short circuit analysis.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy systems and their integration into existing grids.
- Experience with project management and team leadership in a technical environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement processes.
- Proficiency in using software simulation tools for power systems studies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
