Summary

This position is based in downtown Austin, TX, and we are looking for someone who is interested in a role that has an on-site component working closely with and reporting to the CEO.

We are partnered with a fast-growth, later-stage, Business to Consumer Services (B2C) startup to help them identify a Director or VP of Marketing reporting to the CEO to lead customer acquisition. The key success criteria for this role are finding someone who is a hands-on performance marketing leader who can dig deep into analytics, optimize campaigns, and manage tightly to ROI while jumping in and rolling up their sleeves to get work done. For example, if in addition to leading marketing strategy and managing a team you wouldn't hesitate to perform field marketing to meet consumers where they are - Setting up a table at the local gardening center or standing up at a local HOA meeting to give a small pitch, this role could be the right fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead hyper-local customer acquisition across all channels (Online / Offline and Field Marketing).
  • Understand and engage with the communities in which we operate to craft innovative and proprietary field marketing strategies.
  • Develop business-to-business marketing strategies that are mutually beneficial and drive acquisition and brand awareness.
  • Lead a team that includes field marketers, inbound sales agents, content specialists, and agencies.
  • Collaborating with an agency to manage performance and reporting, and adjust plans quickly and based on data-driven decisions to meet sales targets.
  • Lead our launch efforts in new markets and the launch of new services in those markets. The position is primarily based in Austin, but there will be some travel to other Texas markets.
  • Operate as a hands-on leader, jumping in wherever you may be needed.

Requirements

  • 5 years of consumer (B2C) marketing experience. City Launch or Multi-unit / Multi-location brands/franchises experience is a big plus.
  • Extremely analytical and quantitative in approach. Always thinking about dashboards, KPIs, feedback loops, optimizing structure, and process. Able to do root-cause analysis and problem solve, leveraging data and analytics
  • Proficiency across the core tools at all stages of the marketing funnel: implementation of A/B, multi-variate testing of landing pages, lead attribution, Hubspot functionality for lead follow-up, etc.
  • Experience working for high-growth startup brands.
  • Excited about pivoting between strategy and diving in hands-on.
  • Excellent creative, writing / copywriting skills. A well-written and formatted resume.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of digital marketing strategies, including SEO, Paid Search (Social / SEM), E-mail Marketing, Social Media, etc.
  • Team player who actively takes on responsibilities beyond the existingand leads cross-functionally.
