Job Summary

The Director of Operations is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the performance, profitability, and operational excellence of STYL Residential’s multifamily portfolio. This individual will drive results by leading regional and on-site teams, implementing standardized operating procedures, optimizing performance metrics, and ensuring an exceptional resident and associate experience across all assets.

This position is based out of Chicago, IL.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Regional Managers and site-level leaders.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Assist in growing the business by supporting strategic initiatives, new market evaluations, and participation in pitches and presentations to investors or potential partners.
  • Oversee operational performance across the portfolio, ensuring KPIs related to occupancy, NOI, budget adherence, and resident satisfaction are achieved or exceeded.
  • Drive operational consistency and efficiency by developing and implementing SOPs, training programs, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Asset Management, Marketing, Maintenance, and People & Culture teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and support.
  • Analyze market trends, operating data, and resident feedback to inform strategic decisions and enhance the resident experience.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee capital improvement initiatives, new property transitions, and lease-up strategies in partnership with internal stakeholders.


Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field; MBA or CPM designation preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive multifamily property management experience, including at least 3 years in an executive or regional leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing a geographically diverse portfolio with luxury or high-rise experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Deep financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L oversight.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of industry tools and platforms (e.g., Yardi, RealPage, Entrata).


Travel expectations: 50%

Base Salary Range

The expected base salary range for this position is between $160,000 and $180,000. The actual salary offered may differ based on several factors, such as education, location and experience. Additionally, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
