Director of Operations and Bar Manager – Field Bar @ Jubilee Field

Jubilee Field is a new, vibrant, art-forward outdoor venue in Louisville with a purpose of creating sacred ground to spark joy and cultivate real connections. Home to food trucks, live music, immersive art, and a touch of magic, Jubilee Field blends joyful hospitality with meaningful community. At the center of it all is Field Bar, a brand new hangout designed to anchor the space through creative cocktails, good vibes, and thoughtful operations.

We’re preparing to launch—and we’re seeking a Director of Operations/Bar Manager to help bring it all to life.

This is a rare opportunity to join a purpose-driven venue at the ground level. As Director of Operations/Bar Manager, you’ll lead the design and launch of Field Bar’s operational framework including processes and procedures, systems, beverage program, and employee training as an integral part of the pre-opening team. Post-launch, you’ll manage day-to-day operations while helping us lay the foundation for future expansion and assisting with coordination of bar dynamics in conjunction with Jubilee Field events. Depending upon experience and desire, opportunity abounds for involvement in growth of Jubilee Field as the entertainment and event aspect of the space expands.

You’ll work closely with ownership to translate vision into reality through smart, scalable operations that honor art, efficiency, and community care.

• Design and implement full bar program and systems
• Develop drink menus and batch cocktail recipes for high-volume service
• Source vendors and manage distribution accounts
• Build staff SOPs, training materials, POS setup, and inventory systems
• Assist with layout flow, equipment selection, licensing, and compliance
• Collaborate on launch strategy, pricing, and site readiness

• Oversee daily operations: scheduling, payroll, inventory, staff culture
• Maintain loss prevention strategies and financial reporting
• Adjust systems to scale with seasonal traffic and weather-dependent flow
• Manage bar profitability and margin tracking
• Build and train a future general management team for day-to-day operations
• Collaborate on special events, vendor activations, and community programming

• 3–5+ years bar or hospitality operations experience
• Proven track record launching or turning around a bar program with success
• Strong knowledge of batch cocktails, inventory systems, and seasonal menus
• Comfortable in outdoor/seasonal venues with flexible schedules
• Operational strategist with creative thinking
• Passionate about building culture, team systems, and service excellence
• Bonus: Experience with festival-style events, food truck programming, or venue production
