Manufacturing of rotating electrics as we move into the production of new energy. The primary focus of this role will be supporting the development of intelligent automation solutions for new business opportunities and utilizing these solutions to supplant existing manual processes that rely on human-dependent verification & inspection. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Creating and implementing manufacturing processes that meet safety requirements, you’ll help maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Providing leadership in aligning manufacturing processes with business and product specifications to drive the achievement of manufacturing and business objectives.
  • Utilizing your knowledge of manufacturing principles, you’ll lead efforts to enhance equipment and processes, resulting in increased efficiency and productivity.
  • Applying continuous improvement tools and adhering to company standards, you’ll foster a culture of ongoing improvement and innovation.
  • Your ability to communicate effectively with and influence key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members will ensure alignment and support for project goals.
  • Working with internal and external resources, you’ll lead specific project assignments, ensuring successful project execution and delivery.
  • Leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods will contribute to consistent and high-quality production processes.
  • Leveraging your leadership capabilities in planning, designing, purchasing, and implementing changes to manufacturing equipment and systems will drive improvements and support team success.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and lead a team of software engineers with proven capabilities
  • Build a highly motivated and capable team by attracting and retaining the best engineers.
  • An excellent understanding of the development of test automation frameworks
  • Leverage modern engineering practices
  • Integrate product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to develop optimal manufacturing processes that meet product specifications.
  • Build strong partnerships and work collaboratively with others to achieve shared objectives. Effective teamwork will be crucial.
  • Develop and deliver clear, multi-mode communications tailored to the unique needs of different audiences. This will ensure everyone is on the same page and understands the goals and processes.
  • Proactively champion health and safety behaviors. Identify, report, and participate in actions to improve health and safety, fostering an injury-free workplace.
  • Identify, recommend, and select manufacturing equipment that meets company and our customers’ specifications & project needs, ensuring the right tools are in place for efficient production.
  • Where available, use digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes and equipment performance. Make data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvements.
  • Apply your knowledge of manufacturing to implement changes in processes, equipment, and applications, contributing to continuous improvement and meeting functional needs.
  • Recognize and appreciate the value of different perspectives and cultures, fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Design, specify, and oversee the installation, general maintenance, and operation of plant automation systems.
  • Review spare parts requirements and request changes if needed. Research, select or apply sensors, communication technologies, or control devices for motion control, position sensing, pressure sensing, or electronic communication
  • Evaluate automation systems and equipment to develop strategies to optimize and ensure the quality and stability of the automation systems through future expansions and operational enhancements.
  • Excel at working with PLCs and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and Historians (long-term data storage repositories). Preferred experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and/or Ignition.

  • Extensive knowledge of production principles and
  • techniques.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
  • Strong supervisory / management skills


QUALIFICATIONS


Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or
  • equivalent experience required.

Experience:

  • 10-15 years of high-volume automation work experience required.
