The Director/ Senior Director of Information Technology will be responsible for all information systems, technology solutions, cybersecurity, and data integrity matters at Parallel ENT & Allergy. The Director/ Senior Director of IT will support the development and execution of IT strategies across the organization, which are critical for business insight and long-term strategic success. In addition, this position will lead tactical support capabilities for partner practices, including practice integration, IT security processes and tools, managing local IT support providers, and other initiatives to provide consistent support across the network of practices. This position reports to the Chief Growth Officer.
Responsibilities
Align IT objectives and programs with the company’s vision, strategies, and key results.
Support execution of IT strategy, balancing diverse IT infrastructure and systems across a growing number of practice partners with various key IT systems and processes.
Evaluate and assess existing systems and environment and develop a scalable plan for continued growth and expansion.
Lead technology-related integration activities for acquired practices, including analyzing existing technologies, deploying company standard monitoring tools, email security and migration, and other ad hoc requirements identified during integration.
Evaluate existing practice management systems and provide guidance for consolidation and integration.
Provide guidance and expertise on plans for additional tools for adoption and data integration initiatives.
Manage vendors that support day-to-day and strategic initiatives including managing relationships and negotiating and ensuring delivery, cost control, and cost mitigation with an eye towards optimizing value for the organization.
Work closely with third parties/MSPs as needed to define and manage responsibilities/resources and priorities for partner onboarding and ongoing support.
Evaluate current third parties/MSPs and provide a consolidated plan for cost reduction.
Manage relationships with legacy IT providers across diverse landscape of IT systems at partner practices.
Manage EMR Manager and other related direct reports.
Create and oversee the implementation of new security and compliance policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain appropriate internal controls, IT governance and policies, and external cybersecurity-related tools and procedures.
Review and update our current information security and privacy policies.
Carry out regularly scheduled security functions, such as network scans, vulnerability scans, and security-log reviews.
Conduct assessments and audits to measure the efficiency of our compliance and security systems.
Keep up to date with external security and compliance regulations and data privacy and security best practices to lead the improvement of internal security and compliance policies and procedures as required.
Work closely with the compliance function and coordinate the IT component of internal and external audits and federal and state examinations to ensure security programs follow relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
Evaluate new cybersecurity threats and IT trends and develop adequate security controls. Oversee development of security awareness programs.
Oversee training and dissemination of security policies and practices.
Provide strategic risk guidance for IT projects, including evaluating and recommending technical controls.
Create a cohesive environment with standardized email across all practices.
Proactive IT leadership presence providing partner practices with an “ease of use” technology platform.
Develop and manage an internal IT ticketing system across all partners to track issues and confirm that they are fully resolved with local providers, MSP support, or internal resources.
See that all reported issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
Coordinate the development of implementation plans and procedures to ensure business-critical services are recovered in the event of disasters or other incidents and provide direction, support, and in-house consulting in these areas.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems Security, or equivalent experience.
Extensive project management experience leading and completing ongoing IT initiatives across an enterprise.
Over ten years of relevant work experience leading information technology teams in a healthcare setting.
Deep knowledge of HIPPA compliance and associated IT requirements.
Experience working with private equity or PE backed companies.
Five years working in a multi-site, multi-state healthcare organization.
Forward-looking approach to technology, operations, systems, project management, and process improvement.
Experience managing disparate systems and technology environments to achieve standardized IT security and business management objectives.
Experience in establishing cybersecurity and risk metrics for reporting.
Ability to quickly learn new software and systems, adapt to change, and communicate effectively.
