Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000 per year

Summary

The Intake Director position, both clinical and administrative, involves supervising intake staff, coordinating admissions and discharges, managing bed availability, and overseeing intake paperwork and pre-certifications. The role requires adapting and directing the department to achieve optimal service access, participating in staff meetings and training, handling personnel management, developing team leadership, maintaining documentation, overseeing external trainers, ensuring confidentiality, and completing required trainings.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Direct supervision of Intake Coordinators, Case Managers, Admission Technicians, Intake Medical Assistants, Administrative Associates, Engagement Coaches, and other intake staff

Work with central admissions office to coordinate admits, discharges, bed availability.

Ensure bed board census is completed every morning

Ensure that detox bed availability is completed and updated throughout the day

Communicate changes in admissions/discharges (unplanned discharges, AMA’s, no-shows, etc.) with central admissions.

Oversee that intake paperwork on new admissions are completed as needed.

Contact referral source, payer source, upon admission.

Obtain pre-cert if needed

Cross train as back-up/support for Utilization Review process, completing daily census.

Leadership and involvement in staff meetings, training, new employee onboarding, ongoing development new employee training program.

Works with all departments on scheduling services throughout the entire facility

Carries out the personnel management activities associated with direct staff supervision, including screening and selection, orientation training and development, performance management and employee functions.

Developing a team of capable leaders within their departments.

Ensure proper documentation is occurring on all shift/incident reports

Oversees outside trainers and other services coming into the facility to provide quality services for clients.

Excellent ability to hire, train, supervise and evaluate multiple level support staff.

Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to all company information

Completion of all required trainings as designated by the company and accreditation/licensing entities.

Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Will be responsible for day to day operations of clinical program as well as training and onboarding of new staff.

Education, Licensure, & Experience

Supervisory experience in a behavioral healthcare setting, preferred.

Experience with report writing, staff development and the intake and referral processes.
