Summary

MISSION: To educate Christians who will make a difference in the world for Jesus Christ. SUMMARY: The Director of Information Services offers senior-level technical leadership and technology solutions tailored to the university's needs, demonstrating a strong grasp of the computing environment and exceptional customer service. They coordinate systems, manage databases, and maintain the university's technology infrastructure. Acting as the primary representative of Information Services and team manager, the Director will collaborate closely with stakeholders. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * In collaboration with the Vice President for Business, set objectives and strategies for the Information Services department, including Information Systems, Events, and Mail Room. * In collaboration with the Vice President for Business, set objectives and strategies for Information Services, including Events and Mail Room operations. * Design, implement, and support systems to improve the student, faculty, and administrative experience while advancing the university's mission. * Lead cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning, including co-location solutions and annual tabletop exercises. * Implement and maintain robust documentation and knowledge management standards, ensuring continuity and transparency. * Coordinate, assess, and upgrade institutional infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, virtualization, cloud systems, and top-of-rack switching. * Lead automation initiatives, including Microsoft 365 and Power Platform adoption (e.g., Forms, Automate), for efficiency and data integrity. * Ensure systems support accreditation, institutional research, and state/federal reporting through data governance and reporting infrastructure. * Maintain compliance with regulatory and legislative frameworks (FERPA, HIPAA, GLBA, SB619, etc.). * Oversee integration projects (e.g., Populi, SLATE, eRezLife) and support cross-departmental system alignment (Accounting, Admissions, Advancement, Student Life, etc.) across the institution. * Lead talent development, succession planning, and mentorship for professional staff and student technicians. * Provide strategic and operational leadership for service desk operations, AV/media systems, and classroom/event support. * Oversee IT procurement, budget planning, and vendor management in alignment with university financial objectives. * Maintain strong, mission-aligned relationships with external partners and peer institutions. * Ensure data accessibility, privacy, security, and system reliability while supporting strategic planning and innovation. * Serve as a servant-leader fostering a communication climate of openness, support, and innovation aligned with institutional values. * Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * Executive-level knowledge of higher education IT operations and systems. * Clear vision for Information Technology's role in mission-driven, data-informed strategy. * Expertise in Microsoft 365, PowerShell, virtual infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix), and enterprise integration. * Ability to align technology with accreditation and compliance standards. * Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and decision-making skills. * Knowledge of multiple OS platforms (Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Linux) and device management (e.g., Intune). * Understanding of disaster recovery, automation tools, and low-code application platforms. * Familiarity with data governance, institutional data strategy, and research support. * Experience with budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor negotiations. * Ability to work with flexible and changing assignments. Strong commitment to customer service QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or related field required; Master's preferred. * Seven years of progressive leadership in IT with strategic planning and budgeting experience. * Three years of experience in higher education IT preferred. * Proven leadership in infrastructure modernization, cloud strategy, and data systems. * Demonstrated success managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects. * Active membership in a Bible-believing, Gospel-preaching church. * Evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle are consistent with the university's mission as described in our Statement of Faith. * Candidates should value an environment reflecting the cultural diversity of God's kingdom. WORKING CONDITIONS On-campus position averaging 40 hours/week, with availability during evenings/weekends for events and emergency IT incidents. Travel may be required for professional development or inter-institutional collaboration.
