Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Washington, DC that is seeking a Director of Finance. Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute the organization's financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
  • Financial Operations Management: Oversee all financial operations such as invoicing, payroll, reporting, and transactions
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports and analysis to the board, staff, and stakeholders
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports
  • Internal Controls: Design, implement, and manage internal financial controls and procedures to maximize efficiency and safeguard assets
  • Fund Development: Work closely with the executive director and other department heads to strategize on fund development plans and align them with financial plans
  • Audit Management: Manage and oversee the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors
  • Cost-Saving Measures: Recommend cost-saving measures and identify funding opportunities
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and support to the organization's financial team, fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred
  • Experience: Extensive experience in nonprofit financial management, strategic planning, and team leadership
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems, financial modeling software, and advanced spreadsheet skills
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial regulations and standards applicable to nonprofit organizations
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
