Summary

The Director of Field Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing day-to-day courier operations across all field locations. This role ensures successful client start-ups, seamless implementations, and consistent service delivery aligned with company standards. The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader with a proven track record in logistics or courier services, capable of scaling field teams while delivering exceptional client experiences with frequent visits to client sites.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Lead and manage regional field operations teams to ensure timely, safe and efficient delivery
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that improve service quality, reduce costs, and increase field productivity.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, state & federal regulations, and industry standards.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize delivery routes, reduce turnaround time, and increase resource efficiency.
  • Monitor KPIs and use metrics to drive decision-making and strategic adjustments.

Client Start-Up, Implementation, and Relationship Management

  • Oversee all aspects of new client start-ups, including route design, training, compliance, and performance measurement.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Client Services and Technology teams to develop and execute detailed client implementation plans.
  • Work in partnership with Client Services, Account Management, and Dispatch leadership regarding operational performance
  • Ensure smooth transition from sales handoff to full operational delivery.
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for operational escalations and issue resolution.
  • Build trusted relationships with key client stakeholders by delivering consistent operational performance.
  • Provide operational insights and data during quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and strategic planning sessions.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Train and develop field managers and supervisory staff to build a high-performing operations team.
  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of information received and processed.
  • Able to manage tasks of differing priority levels and respond in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.


Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent required. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Eight (8) plus years of experience in operations management within the courier, logistics, or transportation industry. PBM or healthcare knowledge a plus. CRM experience a plus. Three (3) plus years in a senior leadership or management-level role.

Work Environment

This role is a hybrid position with frequent travel expectations within the U.S. estimated at 50 - 75% per year. The emphasis is on travel for impact. Due to the nature of operations, hours of work flexibility is required to maintain a high level of client service to support a 24/7 operation. Office presence at either our Denver, CO or Minneapolis, MN office locations is required up to 2-3 days per week when not traveling.
