Job Salary: $170-200k + Bonus/Stock (Potential for higher total comp based on background and interview process)

Position Overview
The Director of Engineering will lead and manage engineering teams in the development and implementation of cutting-edge satellite communication systems. This role is crucial for driving innovation, ensuring product quality, and maintaining budgetary compliance while overseeing the entire engineering process from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor engineering teams to deliver high-quality satellite communication products.
- Manage product development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of projects within budget.
- Oversee budget management and cost control initiatives related to engineering projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF and systems engineering principles into product designs.
- Drive the development of Antenna Systems and other related technologies to meet market needs.
- Supervise embedded software, systems, RF, and mechanical engineering projects, ensuring alignment with product specifications.
- Implement project management best practices to enhance NPI (New Product Introduction) processes.
- Enhance design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) approaches to optimize production efficiency.
- Conduct continuous process improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Guide material selection processes to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field); Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering management in aerospace, defense, telecommunications, satellite communications, or other related fields.
- Strong background in mechanical, software, RF, and systems engineering and/or managing related teams.
- Proven experience in budget management and cost control practices.
- Familiarity with antenna systems and satellite communication.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful physical product launches.
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements/management and drive efficiencies.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
