Director of Civil & Structural Engineering

Our Houston based client is looking to add an accomplished Director of Civil & Structural Engineering to their leadership team in Houston, TX. This is a strategic, high-impact role responsible for overseeing engineering operations across a portfolio of major Oil & Gas infrastructure projects; both onshore and offshore.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and managerial leadership for all civil and structural engineering activities.
• Oversee design and analysis for foundations, steel structures, pipe racks, offshore platforms, and related infrastructure.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) functions.
• Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Guide the development and implementation of engineering standards and QA/QC protocols.
• Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Represent the firm in client engagements, project reviews, and industry forums.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in Leadership/Management.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
• Strong background in EPC environments and major capital project execution.
• Experience with international design codes and standards (e.g., API, AISC, ASCE, ISO).
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams and complex projects.

Preferred Experience:

• Offshore structural design or FPSO experience.
• Familiarity with tools like STAAD, SACS, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Revit.
• SE license or PMP certification is a plus.
