We’re looking for a strategic and mission-driven Director of Engineering to lead the evolution of a fast-growing consumer platform into a vibrant professional community. You’ll manage multiple engineering teams and leaders focused on creating an engaging, high-impact experience for millions of students and early-career professionals.

What You’ll Do

• Lead at Scale: Oversee multiple engineering teams and managers working on customer facing applications
• Drive Product Strategy: Partner closely with Product, Design, ML, and Marketing to define and deliver a roadmap focused on engagement, community-building, and content-driven growth.
• Foster Engineering Excellence: Champion a culture of quality, experimentation, and metrics-driven development.
• Develop and Grow Talent: Mentor engineering leaders and invest in their career growth through coaching, goal-setting, and clear accountability frameworks.
• Build an Inclusive Culture: Scale a culture of belonging that reflects strong values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Influence Organizational Strategy: Contribute to broader engineering org practices and help shape how we build and scale cross-functionally.

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years in technical roles, with 4+ years in engineering management (including second-line leadership experience).
• Proven track record leading high-impact, cross-functional product teams in fast-paced environments.
• Strong background in building consumer-facing applications across web and/or mobile.
• Hands-on experience with modern technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Go, Python, React, Swift/SwiftUI, GCP, Redis, Pub/Sub, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience working with Data Science and ML teams—especially in areas like personalization, content ranking, or relevance systems.
• Ability to align teams with business outcomes while scaling engineering operations and culture.
