A Day in the Life The Director of Employee Relations & Engagement will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of employee relations within our organization. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive work environment, enhancing team member engagement, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources management, conflict resolution, and employment law. Roles and Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies to enhance team member engagement, morale, and retention. Oversee internal communications, ensuring timely, transparent, and effective messaging across all levels of the organization. Collaborate with HR to design and execute team member recognition programs, training, and development opportunities. Serve as a liaison between leadership and staff, gathering feedback and addressing concerns to foster a positive and productive work environment. Monitor and report on team member engagement metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support to managers on handling employee relations issues and disciplinary actions. Prepare reports for senior management on employee relations issues and initiatives. Lead and manage team member surveys, focus groups, and other initiatives to assess the work environment and identify areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures related to team member engagement. Work closely with other HR functions, such as recruitment, training, and compensation, to ensure alignment in employee relations efforts. Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., EEOC, FMLA, ADA). Proficiency in HRIS and employee management software. Skills and Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, psychology or related field. Masters preferred. Five years of experience with employee retention in hospital, nursing care facility, or other related. Proven track record of success managing retention in a healthcare setting, as well as exceeding KPI goals, preferably long-term care. Experience in development and leadership programs. Experience operating in a results-driven environment with a sense of urgency for goal achievement. Effective interpersonal skills, sound judgement, professionalism, and solid decision-making skills. Ability to work independently, motivate, flexible, versatile, and creative. Strong interpersonal skills and leadership attributes consistent with organization Excellent presentation skills Professional credentials in Human Resources either HRCI certified PHR or SPHR or SHRM certified, preferred.
