Summary

We’re partnering with a fast-growing compliance and cybersecurity startup (series B) backed by leading investors, empowering enterprises to stay ahead of regulatory risk and cyber threats. As we scale, data is central to our mission- powering real-time insights, security automation, and customer trust.

We’re hiring for a Director of Data to own and evolve our client's data strategy, infrastructure, and execution. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who can move between strategic thinking and hands-on implementation, building a strong data function from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and lead the company-wide data vision- from infrastructure and governance to analytics and applied ML
  • Build and scale a modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Kafka, Looker) to support secure and reliable pipelines
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, security, and compliance teams to define key data needs
  • Establish best practices around data quality, observability, security, access, and compliance (GDPR, SOC2, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Partner with leadership on data-informed strategy, operational dashboards, and predictive models
  • Hire and mentor a high-performing data team as we grow

What We’re Looking For

  • 7–10+ years of experience in data roles, including team leadership
  • Strong technical expertise in data architecture, engineering, and analytics
  • Experience working in compliance, cybersecurity, fintech, or other regulated industries
  • Familiarity with privacy-first data design and secure data practices
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining comfortable rolling up your sleeves
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with threat detection, anomaly detection, or risk scoring models
  • Background in BI/analytics tools, security data modeling, or regulatory reporting
  • Knowledge of modern compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO27001, NIST)

Compensation and Benefits

  • $250,00 to $315,000 base, plus equity and bonuses - compensation to reflect the experience of the candidates
  • Full health benefits, unlimited PTO, and remote working + sizeable equity

All interested candidates are highly encouraged to apply!
