Summary

Job Title: Director of Analytics


Location: Preference for Bay Area (hybrid: 1-2 days/week in office) - open to remote candidates with frequent travel to San Francisco


Compensation: $240,000 - $280,000 base + equity (20,000 - 30,000 stock options, estimated value $160k - $240k)


Visa Status: U.S. Citizen or Green Card holders only


Experience Required: 10+ years of professional experience, including 4+ years in people management.

Role Overview

This is a priority hire focused on scaling and leading the analytics function across both product and business domains. The Director of Analytics will oversee a team of 20+ analysts, with flexibility to hire managers and team leads as needed. This leader will be responsible for ensuring the team delivers actionable insights that drive product value, user engagement, and revenue.

This role will have significant visibility across the organization and work on high-impact initiatives tied directly to company growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale the centralized analytics team (Product & Business Analytics)
  • Establish processes and structure to increase team performance and efficiency
  • Drive analytics strategy that supports core business objectives (conversion, retention, reactivation, etc.)
  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Executive Leadership
  • Provide strategic business insights and influence key initiatives like pricing and customer segmentation
  • Build a strong, motivated, and high-performing analytics team culture
  • Create and present insights to executive leadership, contributing to critical decisions


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven success managing and scaling high-performing analytics or data teams
  • Strong business acumen and a track record of using data to drive meaningful product and business outcomes
  • Comfortable in startup environments - scrappy, adaptive, and ready to build from scratch
  • Experience working with or managing analysts focused on both product and business intelligence
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Technical literacy (SQL, Python, data visualization tools) - hands-on experience a plus but not required.
