Director of Credit & Collections
Location: Middlesex County, MA

Salary: $190,000 - $210,000
An established company in Middlesex County, MA is seeking an experienced Onsite Director of Credit & Collections for a full-time, onsite position. This leadership opportunity offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package within a collaborative, performance-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
· Lead the overall strategy and daily operations of the credit, collections, and cash application functions.
· Manage and develop a skilled team, providing training, coaching, and ongoing performance evaluations.
· Drive process improvements to accelerate cash inflows and reduce overdue accounts.
· Assess and update credit limits for both new and existing clients, ensuring alignment with financial risk guidelines.
· Partner with Sales to review customer credit profiles and recommend appropriate terms and conditions.
· Review and interpret customer financial documents to determine creditworthiness and propose modifications to payment structures as needed.
· Ensure accurate processing and allocation of payments and adjustments across customer accounts.
· Engage with clients to address aged receivables and facilitate successful resolution of outstanding balances.
· Determine next steps for delinquent accounts, including escalation or referral to outside agencies when appropriate.
· Identify recurring billing or transaction issues that may hinder collections and collaborate with internal teams to resolve root causes.
· Uphold company credit policies and procedures, and contribute to policy enhancements that support risk management and revenue goals.
· Collaborate across departments to improve billing accuracy and promote timely collections.
· Monitor collection efforts, follow up on past-due accounts, and oversee the reconciliation of unapplied cash or disputes.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related area.
· 7-10 years of relevant experience, with strong leadership in credit and collections roles.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
· Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, credit evaluation, and receivables management.
· Skilled in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting with high attention to detail.
· Ability to travel occasionally, as needed.
