Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for the Director of Communications located in Berkeley, CA, with some work from home acceptable. The Director of Communications will oversee strategic communication initiatives, work with the development team to prepare for CITRIS's 25th anniversary, and oversee digital storytelling and outreach. Day-to-day tasks include developing and implementing communication strategies, working with peers and faculty on all 4 CITRIS campuses, leading executive communications and conveying CITRIS's work to a broad public. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent messaging and branding.


Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Communication, Strategic Communications, and Public Relations
  • Experience with Press Releases, Media Relations, Social Media and managing various media outlets
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Familiarity with technology innovation ecosystems and university research environments is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field, with advanced degrees preferred
