The Opportunity:
As Director of Architecture, you will join the senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic, design, and operational direction of the practice. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams on high-profile projects, oversee client relationships, contribute to business development, and mentor emerging talent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of large-scale, complex projects across multiple sectors
- Act as a key client liaison, ensuring high standards of service and delivery
- Provide strategic input into business growth, resourcing, and project pipeline
- Manage and mentor senior architects, associates, and design teams
- Champion design quality, sustainability, and technical excellence
- Collaborate with internal directors across disciplines to align commercial and creative objectives
- Represent the practice at industry events, competitions, and public consultations
Requirements:
- ARB registered Architect with significant post-qualification experience
- Proven leadership within an AJ100 or similarly scaled architecture practice
- Strong portfolio of delivered projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, or healthcare
- Skilled in client engagement, project leadership, and business development
- Ability to inspire, manage and mentor teams effectively
- Deep understanding of UK planning, building regulations, and procurement processes
