Job Summary & Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and direction to regional managers for providing the perspective of customer process and device roadmaps for a broad function area.
- Manages technical resources and resource optimization. Works closely with BU teams to ensure the installed base performance and customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for driving team to execute on Onto’s strategic plans. Lead key strategic customer engagements and new product evaluations and demos.
- Resolves unusually complex technical issues utilizing systematic troubleshooting methodology generally involving multiple processes. Create a mechanism to communicate issues, track progress and pull resources from multiple business units and/or functions.
- Communicates learnings to rest-of-world to strengthen Onto products and processes. Responsible for BKM development, knowledge sharing and technical publications.
- Technical expert leading strategic activities.
- The Applications Director/Senior Director should know wafer fab processes and Onto technology portfolio to map customer challenges to Onto solutions, identify inflections, and threats and opportunities for share and TAM growth. Determines segmentation & requirements.
- Delivers detailed competitive analysis. Develops a winning product/ business strategy.
- Discovers customer high value problems, understands options and influences the customer ’s technical choices. Drive to provide solutions to customer's high value problems.
- Drive continued use case, adoption and deployment of Onto solutions, work on driving requirements back to the Product BU to expand footprint and adoption of platforms in R&D/HVM setting.
- Protects customer and Onto IP and gathers competitive intelligence
- Leads research, development, and implementation of new products and CIPs to the existing product line.
- Capture and help shape customer demand (ex. opportunities); Understand how demand aligns with current (and/or future) technical/business capabilities.
- Work closely with the BDs, RGMs, sales/account managers on product promotion/positioning and help drive the regional business growth.
- Takes the lead in positioning new technologies to customers. Interfaces with customers at the key development and manufacturing sites to form strategic partnerships to evaluate new and emerging technologies and oversees joint development activities or beta-site testing programs.
- Makes executive level presentations.
Qualifications
- MSc degree with 10 years of experience or PhD degree with 7 years of experience in semiconductor metrology and inspection.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Expert applications understanding and knowledge in metrology/inspection
- In-depth knowledge in semiconductor manufacturing process in FEOL & BEOL and advanced packaging.
- Ability to effectively interface with different groups in the company and work collaboratively to achieve company goals.
- Collaborates with other team members and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong business acumen.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to think strategically and tactically (detail-oriented).
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both senior management and front-line staff personnel.
- Willingness for frequent international travel (up to 25%) and working with groups in various time zones.
