What is the opportunity?
The
Director, Enterprise Solutions and Global Functions, Global Inclusion will ideate, develop and help implement the next generation of systemic and governance-based solutions to support long-term business success through greater stakeholder inclusion. This role will also directly support leaders within our Global Functions platforms (e.g. Finance, HR, Law) to deliver solutions and initiatives in support of their talent strategies related to inclusion.
This position will have an integral role in helping RBC deliver on our Purpose. Specifically, this person will work globally to help deliver against RBC’s Purpose Framework to support employees in their pursuit of meaningful careers, as well as help enable RBC’s clients to achieve their financial aspirations (via supporting businesses in finding ways / establishing practices to ensure that RBC accounts for our clients’ varied and evolving needs).
The role will report to the Senior Director, Strategy, Research and Enterprise Enablement and will partner with colleagues within the Global Inclusion and broader Sustainability and Impact teams, as well as business and platform leadership (including their Human Resources leaders).
What will you do?
Oversee and continuously improve an existing portfolio of inclusion programs and initiatives at global (e.g. enterprise-wide inclusion events) and regional (e.g. Indigenous Development Program) levels.
- Lead transformation initiatives to build new (or highly evolved) programs and initiatives by collaborating with other enterprise and/or regional leaders throughout the enterprise.
- Build cutting-edge insights based off internal and external research to help inform RBC’s strategies and approaches related to fostering inclusion.
- Manage changes by developing a roadmap of relevant, modern, and innovative solutions and orchestrating their implementation.
- Own relationships with / collaborate closely with Global Functions leadership (e.g., HR) to advise on and enable development of their talent strategies and approaches to inclusion, including bringing new, winning solutions to these functions from other parts of RBC.
- Spur action that fosters greater inclusion within Global Functions teams, including systematic adjustments (e.g., changes to policies, processes, practices, tools) and programs (e.g., formal trainings, experience sharing sessions) and, where needed, hands-on planning and management of the execution of processes, practices and programs.
- Oversee, maintain, and evolve governance (e.g. structures, routines, committees) for the Global Inclusion team including overall accountability for Employee Resource Groups.
- Manage the team’s budget, providing regular updates and driving accountability with the Sustainability and Impact’s Senior Management Team.
- Manage a team delivering on solutions and initiatives.
What do you need to succeed?
- Leadership experience in a global team focused on Human Resources, Human Capital, D&I, or a related field.
- Broad knowledge of current and emerging solutions related to creating or increasing access to opportunities to employment, fostering inclusion, and/or promoting fairness in business or talent processes.
- Solutions-oriented strategic mindset to both innovate improvements to how we deliver on programs and initiatives today while building towards longer-term objectives by envisioning a roadmap of new and innovative solutions for the future.
- Proven advisory and consulting skills with a demonstrated capability to collaborate with senior executives, including the ability to generate buy-in, drive cross-team alignment, appropriately set expectations, and activate / mobilize for action.
- Experience translating people data, information and trend analyses to synthesize digestible insights that can assist executives in making decisions and/or create compelling support for formulated plans.
- Demonstrated capabilities as an inclusive leader and professional development focused coach.
- Located in the Greater Toronto Area with the ability to regularly spend in-person time in the office (i.e., multiple times per week) and attend meetings within RBC’s downtown office locations.
