We’re looking for an experienced Director Engineering Manager Metrology (m/w/d) to join one of our clients and develop its Engineering strategies. In your day to day work, you’ll focus on streamlining the selection, procurement, and qualification of metrology equipment, implementing a robust metrology data management strategy, and ensuring high standards of process control and quality.

In This Role, You’ll
Lead the future selection, procurement, and qualification of metrology equipment to align with process and device requirements.
Develop and implement a comprehensive metrology data management and integration strategy, collaborating with automation and IT teams.
Establish and maintain a Six Sigma-based QC system, including robust Statistical Process Control (SPC) frameworks for all key processes.
Build and mentor a high-performing team of process and equipment engineers to support metrology operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and deploy advanced process control solutions, integrating AI and machine learning for real-time process monitoring and defect detection.
Drive calibration, maintenance, and reliability programs for metrology tools, ensuring compliance with industry standards and maximizing uptime.
Collaborate cross-functionally with process, integration, and manufacturing teams to ensure evolving production needs are met.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement while supporting the ramp-up of the fab’s pilot line.
Your Profile
Advanced degree (MS/PhD preferred) in engineering, physics, materials science, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in semiconductor metrology, including tool selection, process control, and team leadership in a wafer fab environment.
Proven expertise in implementing Six Sigma, SPC, and advanced QC methodologies in high-tech manufacturing.
Hands-on experience with various metrology tools (e.g., optical, CD-SEM, AFM, thin film, scatterometry) and their integration into fab processes.
Strong programming and data analysis skills (e.g., Python, SQL, Matlab) with experience in AI/machine learning applications in manufacturing.
Demonstrated ability to build and lead technical teams, manage projects, and communicate effectively across organizational levels.
Excellent communication skills in English is a must, German is a plus.
Please note that we’re looking for support in the Aachen office. Eligibility to work in the EU is required.
