Position Summary: The position is accountable directly to the Senior Director, Talent Management and supervises the Senior Employee Relations Specialist and Employee Relations Coordinator. This is a full-time position based out of our Conway Health and Resource Center in SW DC. The salary range for this position is $80k-$90k and the offer amount is determined by the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience. Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities: * Oversees the performance management system, including sending, tracking, and processing completed evaluations and performance based raises and escalates concerns to supervisor as needed. * Provides oversight and guidance on employee relations issues and partners with supervisor on all high risk and complex issues. * Assists the Director of Talent Management with employee relations issues and employee related concerns, including complaints, grievances, suggestions, etc. Takes detailed notes of employee concerns, utilizes de-escalation tactics and other tools necessary tools, and follows-up with concerns promptly. * Processes involuntary employee terminations and oversees voluntary terminations. Ensures the separation checklist is completed in a timely manner, including mailing final paychecks or processing final pay via ACH per established guidelines. * When conducting investigations or sitting in on disciplinary meetings, documents details thoroughly and sends recaps within 1 business day to all necessary parties. For complex situations, sends recaps to supervisor for review prior to sending to all necessary parties. * Addresses separation related emails as needed from HR email account, including but not limited to Requests for Separation. * Partners with Senior Employment Specialist to conducts in-person exit interviews for all voluntary resignations within one week of their written or verbal resignation. Works with supervisor to analyze feedback provided in the exit interview and takes additional steps as needed. On a quarterly basis, meets with VP of Talent Management and Director of Talent Management to discuss information and themes gathered from exit interviews and makes recommendations. * Maintains knowledge of employment legislation and talent management standards, procedures, and practices, consulting with supervisor and legal counsel as appropriate on high risk or complex issues. * Meets with supervisees regularly and provides real-time feedback, training, support, and coaching as needed. Creates meeting agendas, sends meeting agendas in advance when possible, and documents concerns promptly as needed. * Handles sensitive information with care and discretion to ensure confidentiality. Requirements * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. * A minimum of 5-7 years prior experience in Human Resources required. * 3+ years of supervisory experience: 5+ years preferred. * Ability to prioritize tasks and complete in a timely and thorough manner. * Attention to detail and strong organization skills. * Demonstrated ability to think critically and provide constructive feedback. * Ability to work independently and ask for support as needed. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel. * Prior office/administrative experience. * Ability to handle sensitive information with care and discretion to ensure confidentiality. * Ability to act responsibly, professionally, and use good judgment under pressure required. * Ability to travel to other sites required. * In relation to remote work versus on-site expectations, this position is classified as the following: Remote: A majority of the position may be able to work remotely, but employees will be required to report to the office a minimum of twice per month. Please note that remote work designations are subject to change or fluctuate at any point in time and the supervisor may require in person learning for a specific amount of time after hire.
