Overview The Director - Data, Analytics Engineering will play a pivotal role in JCPenney's global technology team by building and running the D&A ETL engineering team in US (Plano) and India (Bangalore), helping create a global working model for analytics in partnership with the leaders of the group, and maturing the operating model in partnership with multiple teams in the business. Reporting to this leader will be the senior managers. This role will report to the Senior Director of Data Analytics Engineering. The ideal candidate will be influential with their peers in the US and India in defining JCPenney's big data and analytics strategy. Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities: • Leads and coaches managers to work effectively to deliver projects or services in a strong team-oriented environment. • Evaluates associate performance levels across the team and effectively leverages the right talent resources against the work. • Takes a long-term view of talent by building internal capability and identifying bench strength for key positions. Provides mentoring and career development insight to associates across IT. • Provides proactive direction and leadership in key interactions with customers and vendors to define and deliver customer solutions. • Builds open and collaborative relationships with clients and partners. • Is able to influence cross-functionally to drive results. Aware of industry innovations and trends for their area of responsibility. • Responsible for handling the budgeting and financials of the team. • Directly accountable for one or more cost centers and associated portfolios of work. • Develops roadmaps that takes a strategic view of the work. Communicates strategic direction in alignment with organizational priorities and vision. • Experience managing Big Data and Business Intelligence projects • Experience in retail desired Qualifications Skills and Experience: • Typically 15+ years of leadership experience. • Strong leader of people and has experience leading managers. • Demonstrates very strong talent management and strategy setting skills. • Strong understanding of technology and a strong aptitude to learn new areas. • Guide, develop & design technically scalable, performant & cost optimized technical solutions with team. • Influence and create devops culture with critical eye on data quality. • Leads multiple managers and teams of various sizes in complexity of low to medium. • Handles communication across the organization and represents his/her area of responsibility to the organization. • Participates in driving solutions not just in the area of responsibility but across all of IT. • Operates under very limited supervision but will confirm direction and decisions with senior leadership as needed. • High level of collaboration with cross-functional teams required Enjoy a rewarding career at JCPenney Corporate, where we offer a competitive benefits package, a vibrant work environment, and the opportunity to make a difference at one of America's most iconic retailers.
