Summary

Responsibilities, expectations and skills

  1. Project and Program Management - Demonstrable experience & expertise in managing complex IT projects balancing scope, time and cost, whilst managing quality, risks and resources.Strong ability to oversee multiple projects within a program ensuring projects are coordinated and contribute to broader business goals.
  2. Strategic Thinking and Planning – ability to develop and articulate a clear strategic direction for the IT portfolio of work that aligns to ALI’s strategic goals and business objectives, while anticipating future business needs and technological advancements.
  3. Leadership and Team Management – ability to guide and manage teams ensuring they are inspired, motivated, and aligned with the organization’s goals. Strong capability in mentoring and developing talent within the team to foster growth and productivity.
  4. Financial Management and Acumen – proficiency in budget management ensuring delivery of projects within financial constraints. Strong ability and experience in developing business cases for projects to evaluate financial implications of projects and programs, ensuring maximum return-on-investment (ROI).
  5. Risk Management -ability to conduct active project risk management to identify, analyze and mitigate risks for projects and programs.
  6. Problem-solving – proficiency in problem solving to quick address and resolve business pain points. Ability to apply design thinking and human-centered-design principles during solution design.
  7. Technical Expertise – deep appreciation and understanding of IT systems, software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies including AI. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts into language that non-technical stakeholders can understand.
  8. Governance and Compliance – proficiency in establishing and maintaining governance frameworks that ensure consistency, compliance and control across projects. Good understanding of industry regulations and standards relevant to IT and ensuring all projects comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including compliance to cybersecurity, Data Privacy standards and requirements.
  9. Vendor Management – strong skills on contract negotiation and in managing vendor relationships ensuring vendors and partners deliver value and to project / stakeholder expectations. Ability to monitor and manage vendor performance against SLAs and project deliverables.
  10. Change Leadership – expertise in leading change management efforts relating to IT project implementation, including its products and new technologies, and processes within the organization. Influence and drive cultural change within IT and across the broader organization.
  11. Stakeholder Management – Strong and effective interpersonal skills for management relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for IT initiatives. Stakeholder management requires the person in the role to effectively communicate with senior management and executives to provide clear updates, insights and recommendations.
  12. Continuous Improvement – challenge the status quo and foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the IT organization and its stakeholders. Employ a process-first mindset to simplify and harmonize processes where appropriate while enabled with technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Drive innovation thru openness to exploring new technologies, methodologies and processes that can bring competitive advantages to the organization.
  13. Adaptability and flexibility – ability to cope with change, and shifting priorities and demands in a dynamic work environment. Ability to adjust plans and strategies in response to changing business environments and technological trends.
  14. Data-driven decision making – ability to analyze data and metrics to make informed decisions about project prioritization, resource allocation and strategic direction.Results-driven and able to develop key result areas to monitor and measure the success of IT programs.

Qualifications

  1. Over 15+ years of experience in IT Portfolio, Program, and Project Management in handling high-complexity enterprise-wide IT and digital transformation initiatives
  2. Preferrable someone in an Engineering, Math or related IT Management course
  3. PMO.org certification or related discipline accreditation is a huge plus

Success Metrics

  1. Strategic alignment – degree to which IT programs and projects align with and support the organization’s strategic objectives while balancing the IT project portfolio to support both short-term and long-term business goals
  2. Project and Program Delivery - %age of projects and programs completed on time, budget, to agreed scope
  3. Financial Performance – financial return and realization of project and program benefits as per business case. Reduction in operational costs achieve thru IT initiatives and difference between planned and actual expenditure across the IT portfolio
  4. Quality and Performance – measurement of quality of deliverables thru post-implementation reviews, defect rates, and user satisfaction, including system uptime and reliability of the implemented solutions
  5. Risk Management – effectiveness of risk management practices for projects and programs including efficiency in issue resolution and turn-around time
  6. Stakeholder satisfaction – measured thru regular feedback from key stakeholders, including business leaders and team members to gauge satisfaction with IT programs and their outcomes. Ability to respond and adapt to change in response to changing business needs and market conditions.
