Flying Group Middle East, based in Dubai, is part of Flying Group, headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium. We deliver premium aircraft management and charter services, with a global reach and strong presence across key business aviation hubs.

Flying Group Middle East is looking for a Director Business Development for their office in Dubai. The Director Business Development will expand the company’s aircraft management portfolio by securing new management contracts.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced professional who excels in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate will be adept at working across diverse cultural settings and demonstrate a flexible, adaptable approach to their work.


The Position

The Director of Business Development will be tasked with the development and growth of the company’s commercial opportunities in aircraft management within the Middle East and surrounding area. Extensive travel will be required. Additionally, the successful candidate will serve as the organisation’s representative at key industry events.


Duties and ResponsibilitiesAircraft Management Acquisition:

·       Acquire new aircraft currently managed by competitors;

·       Build and manage a robust pipeline of potential clients to ensure continuous growth in aircraft under management; 

·       Prepare Management Proposals tailored to the client’s needs;

·       Prepare aircraft cost budgets to accompany a management proposal with the support of the internal specialists;

·       Negotiate and close contracts that align with both client needs and company objectives;

·       After securing a contract, oversee seamless onboarding, and transfer of the customer to the designated Key Account Manager, passing on all relevant information and agreements for day-to-day management;


Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management:

·       Serve as the main point of contact for new clients and stakeholders in the region;

·       Maintain long-term relationships with prospects and clients;

·       Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to generate leads and strengthen relationships in the aviation sector.


Market Research and Intelligence:

·       Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities and competition;

·       Provide insights and recommendations based on research findings to optimize service offerings and identify new business opportunities;

·       Provide regular updates to the Head of Aircraft Management on progress, trends, and opportunities for expanding the company’s management portfolio.


CRM Management:

·       Keep the CRM system meticulously updated with accurate information on client interactions, lead statuses, contracts, and business development activities;

·       Ensure all data is correctly entered for tracking, reporting, and decision-making;

·       Regularly review CRM data to assess pipeline health, lead progression, and optimize strategies.


Secondary Accountabilities:

·       Work closely with the charter department and transfer leads to the charter department;

·       Supporting the Head of Aircraft Management and Managing Director for reports and projects.


Person Specification

Education, Experience and Competencies:

·       Degree in a commercial program;

·       Fluency in written and spoken English (mandatory), with proficiency in Arabic being very advantageous;

·       A basis of relevant aviation awareness and possessing a firm geographical knowledge;

·       Min. 3 years of previous commercial experience;

·       Experience in Business Aviation, Private Banking or another luxury service;

·       Demonstrated success in business development and growing client portfolios;

·       Experience working with high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and corporate clients in the aviation industry is a significant advantage;

·       Strong communication, negotiation, relationship management skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders such as aircraft owners, pilots, and financial representatives;

·       Being stress-resilient, able to work under time pressure, knowing how to prioritise;

·       A bridge builder and a relationship creator.
