Summary

Job Title: DSP Department: Residential Status: Non-Exempt Department Code: Location: Robert Blakwell Position Overview: Assists with overseeing daily operations functions of staff and individuals the designated center Essential Job Functions: ●Provides direct care, interaction with and supervision of the individuals, inclusive of all daily needs, (e.g. meals, grooming, personal needs, transportation, recreation and leisure, medical, medication etc.) ●Participates in interviewing, selection, on the job orientation and training of employees ●Assists House Manager with staff schedules, Make sure the house has adequate coverage ●Assists House Manager with staff MITC edits and approvals (time and attendance) ●Assists with staff evaluations and employee performance, makes recommendations related to performance improvement plans, provides feedback and coaching ●Assists House Manager with employee verbal and written disciplinary actions according to agency policies and procedures. Makes recommendations related to training needs, suspension and terminations. ● Operates the home-site in a clean safe manner and in accordance with regulation of the funding agencies, authorities and agency policies and procedures. Reports any repairs needs quickly to the appropriate personnel ●Responsible for assisting the House Manager with scheduling of all medical appointments in timely manner. Accompanies the individual on the appointment, when necessary, providing medical personnel with all appropriate information. Provides the House Manager and nursing with written documentation of any upcoming appointments. Implements all prescribed/recommended treatment in accordance with regulations and agency policies and procedure. ●Responsible for assisting the House Manager for any staff call outs. ●Performs and completes all required/requested documentation to be shared with professional interdisciplinary team, including assessments of skills and needs, program plans, goals, and objectives ●Performs and completes all necessary documentation in a timely manner and accuracy to ensure operations of the home-site in accordance with procedures including individual funds, petty cash, menus, time sheets, maintenance sheets for vehicles, and all programmatic documentation ●Responsible for reporting/monitoring individuals' information in the I-Care system, including diary notes, Calendar, Attendance, Fire Drills, and checklist ●Responsible for the daily med administration and documentation ●Administer medications according to procedures and only if currently certified by the State of Maryland ●Informs supervisor of all developments within the program, especially any emergency situations. Completes all assigned follow-up activities as requested and in a timely manner ●Attends, participates in and implements all required and requested trainings ●Conducts self in a professional manner at all times when interacting with individuals, staff, neighbors, parents, advocates consultants, professionals, and regulatory agency personnel ●Treat each individual served with dignity and respect, including providing opportunities to engage in decision making, constructive activities and habilitation services * Work hours and days may vary * Must be willing to work in various residential locations * All other duties that may be requested by House Manager, Operations Manager, and/or Director of Residential Services
