Position Overview

The Digital Visual Merchandiser will be responsible for managing and optimizing the visual presentation of products across various platforms. This role will focus on creating compelling product displays, enhancing the digital shopping experience, and implementing merchandising strategies that drive engagement and conversions. The Visual Merchandiser will also collaborate closely with in-house teams and our external partner, Virtual Ops, to coordinate content and creative production, acting as the central point of contact and program manager for visual merchandising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Homepage, Category Listing Page (CLP), and Product Listing Page (PLP) Merchandising

Manage the visual layout of the homepage, CLP, and PLP to optimize customer navigation and product discovery.

Design and implement visual elements like banners, product widgets, sorting options, and filter functionalities.

Strategically position products, product recommendations, and visual cues (e.g., bestsellers, new arrivals, trending items) to guide customer decisions.

  • Product Detail Page (PDP) Merchandising

Optimize PDP layouts, ensuring a logical flow and compelling visual presentation.

Manage and update product images, feature images, and graphics on PDPs to enhance product understanding.

Collaborate with content and creative teams to include accurate product descriptions, videos, FAQs, and related content.

Use wireframing to structure PDP layouts and enhance the customer experience.

  • Visual Content Creation & Management

Collaborate with the internal Studio team, Creative team and extrenal agency to ensure the production of high-quality PDP visuals, including:

Product images, zoom images, feature images, installation images, care instruction images, and package inclusion images.

AI-generated lifestyle images that demonstrate product usage and application.

3D rendered images, 3D 360-degree interactive visuals, and 3D product videos.

Manage visual updates for all existing products and new product launches.

  • Research & Strategy Development

Conduct research and competition benchmarking to identify trends, customer behavior, and best practices.

Develop creative concepts and themes for visual merchandising elements.

Create storyboards and wireframes to plan the visual presentation and layout of digital assets.

  • Product Content & Buying Guides

Work with internal studio team, creative team and agency to manage visual elements for buying guides, material/fabric guides, and product comparison content.

Work closely with the content team to ensure visual and textual content are aligned and effectively communicate product features and benefits.

Develop content and visuals for category pages and product pages.

  • Performance Analysis & Optimization

Track and analyze key metrics such as click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates, and engagement rates to measure the effectiveness of visual merchandising strategies.

Use heatmap tools to understand user behavior, such as scrolling patterns and click distributions, to identify areas for improvement in layout and content placement.

Conduct A/B testing on various visual elements to determine their impact and refine visual merchandising tactics based on data insights.

  • Coordination & Program Management

Act as the central point of contact for all Visual Merchandising-related functions.

Work closely with external agency partner for content and creative production, ensuring that all outputs meet quality standards and align with business goals.

Collaborate with in-house teams (Category, Catalogue, Studio, and Marketing) to ensure a cohesive product presentation across all digital platforms.

Facilitate communication between internal teams and the agency partner, acting as a program manager to ensure seamless execution of visual merchandising strategies and timely delivery of content and creative assets.

  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement

Stay updated on the latest visual merchandising and e-commerce trends, tools, and technologies.

Proactively suggest and implement new visual merchandising techniques, layouts, or technologies (e.g., interactive content, augmented reality).

Develop and implement new strategies for optimizing the customer journey through enhanced visual presentation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Visual Merchandising, Design, Marketing, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in digital visual merchandising or a similar role in an e-commerce environment.

Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, website functionality, and user experience (UX) design principles.

Understanding of design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), wireframing tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch), and CMS platforms.

Experience with 3D modeling and AR tools is a plus.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to track and interpret performance data to make informed decisions.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
