Candidate will be working both with government and Commerical agencies. Looking for someone with excellent soft skill, (speaking and writing). Anyone from the Insurance or Financial sector is a plus. Responsibilities * Be part of an inclusive, collaborative team that embraces pairing, healthy discussions and supports each other in their goals * Lead a team of talented managers and engineers who like to ship code and tackle hard engineering problems * Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team members. Help develop their careers, and assign them to projects tailored to their skill levels, personalities, work styles, and professional goals * Build teams that are collaborative, inclusive, and respectful of each other * Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members * Create plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges in your organization * Maintain a balance between building sustainable, high-impact projects and shipping things quickly * Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team's code, architecture, and processes * Collaborate with cross functional teams on new and emerging technologies, determining how they will integrate into current and evolving infrastructure * Unblock, support and effectively communicate cross functionally in order to achieve results * Help define the team roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs * Leave the code in a better state than when you found it (progressive refactor) * Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge * Define roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs * Build holistic visibility into SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, dependency graphs, past performance of software, network, and system to ensure that we can continue to scale without increasing operational burden or toil * Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and evangelizing appropriate tech and engineering best practices * Build infrastructure and drive projects that break things with the aim to improve the robustness of production systems * Use the core Site Reliability Engineering principles of change management, monitoring, emergency response, capacity planning, and production readiness reviews to run the platform * Step back to observe patterns and develop innovative tools and automation to minimize toil. Use those learnings to drive the best operational practices. * Partner with the broader GCIO organization to build a culture of rigorously learning from incidents * Unblock, support, and effectively communicate across teams to achieve results * Go home knowing that your work today is meaningfully improving lives Qualifications * Must have 5+ years of software engineering industry experience * Advanced knowledge of microservices, IaC, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML * Experience working with modern JavaScript frameworks, like React * Experience working with NodeJS and Express applications * Experience working with design systems (e.g. Bootstrap, Salesforce Lightning, GitHub Primer) * Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing * Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Design * Good understanding of infrastructure and systems performance
